Tokyo Parts Ape
Proving once again that people will customize just about any bike, and that the only limits are the imaginations of builders, here’s a Honda Ape tricked out like a muscle bike, and it looks damn good!

Zoku Yamaha Thumper
I’ve never owned a thumper, a single cylinder motorcycle. I’ve had parallel twins, and an inline four, and right now I’m working on getting a triple up and running, but no singles. This 1984 Yamaha SR400 by Zoku Motorcycles in Australia could convince me to own one. It’s a very elemental design, with a bare metal/powdercoated tank and blacked out engine and simple solo seat. It’s got the right look, and I just love the fat look of the Firestone tires!

The Nugget
Here’s another Honda CB250RS, this one from Australia, built as a challenge to see what could be done with a simple 250cc bike that was still a blast to ride. I think the builder succeeded brilliantly. Extra attention was paid to hiding wiring in the handlebar, and making the bar seem to just float above the triple clamp. The name “the Nugget” refers to the paint color, a hue used on late sixties Ford Fairlanes!

Silver Bug BMW r100
There are a lot of Beemer cafe racers out there, and I’ve featured many here. So what makes this one, from 4h10 in France, special enough to warrant mention? It’s not all that different from most, but there are some touches that really stand out. The headlight, an original ‘70’s Ossa headlight with a yellow coating on the glass, really catches my eye. The tank is a stunner, and the subtle stripe running down the middle is a perfect touch. The red spark plug wires are a great way to add interest to something that has to be there, with no real way to hide them, and the squat seat really accentuates the lines of the tank and lends a purposeful forward motion to the bike. Well done!
